I don't think anyone is to be blamed here. Everyone involved played their part sincerely, we can see that.
All I see today, is that some of my associates who started with Oracle/Forms a few years back enjoy a steady product & proper support & today if they upgrade to 10g & Forms10g with very little effort the applications become web based. (As I am told by them, not my personal experience)
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/index.html - Reading para 1 itself gives you a good idea of what a long term commitment should be like.
Whereas those who shifted from VFP to VB6 had to turn on their heads to change over to VB.Net first & still not have a proper solution for Web based applications, in the sense that they rewrote & redesigned their application twice only, if they were lucky to get the correct advice.
Even the .Net framework keeps coming again n again in new avatars. I remember the people who started with the first version burning their fingers. They looked like gini-pigs being used for experimentation.
Do you think it's in the developer's best interest to put yourself in harms way by opting for unreliable & unstable environment. I think I should have chosen smartly then.
For M$ it is business, so is for me. I will not repeat a mistake, if I think I made one.
