In situations where you no longer have the same likes, dislikes, and goals in life .. you have to just accept it and move on and maybe you'll get lucky and find someone that shares your current likes, dislikes, and goals.
That's where compromise has to be a part of the whole.
It's the main reason why I've never been married. I've always seen myself as too selfish to be able to compromise on how I want to live my life and spend my time. Knowing that compromise has to be a major component of any successful marriage is what has kept me from going that route.
