Maybe USA expects Turkey support as some kind of repay for all money that your country received as American military and economical help. Being interested in American policy you certainly keep the score.
I would also imagine that Al Qaida-like organizations have some idea how Turkey society should be rebuilt. I don't know your personal opinion on the topic but many your countrymen would not be too happy with these changes.
