Stupid as it may sound, and despite my recent rant against Sony, the best burning software is the one I got with Sony's burner (which is in the spare parts bin now). It does everything I need, and didn't even blink when I plugged the new burner in. It's the "RecordNow!" app, which has some sort of souped up interface with irregular shape, and looks like it was designed in a FTPADTA manner, which usually annoys me republicly, but this one just works.
