That is something that I hate about Dell and most other computer manufacturers... why put out 3MHz boxes with 512 megs of memory?

>Hi Kevin.
>I run everything on a Dell Inspiron 5150 , 3 MHz Notebook with currently 512 and about to upgrade to 2 GB. I also have an external USB 120 Gig drive
>(Not sure of its speed..dont use Dot Net on it, but for everything else it rips along)

>I've probably mentioned this before, but up to now all apps (other than Vis Studio) have been extremely responsive.

>I jusy could not tolerate the sluggishness of DOT Net if it remains at the current speed ....I will first try the 2 Gigs..if that does'nt work I may be forced into getting a new PC....

>>Also....drive speed (4200 rpm vs 5400 rpm vs 7200 rpm) is also a measurable factor. Are you running on a desktop or laptop? I've found that VS.NET will be sluggish on laptops with average speed drives.
