>>>One thing that is really annoying though .. and I don't know if it's Vista or my new laptop .. I have the laptop on the right and an external monitor on the left so the external monitor is at a negative x,y point. Everytime I log in or switch users or return from hibernation it resorts back to thinking the laptop is on the left and the external is on the right so I keep having to change it several times a day. What a PITA!!

I have a different problem - I've added a monitor to the right (do my regular PC, not the laptop) and now my OS thinks it has ONE monitor with 2880x900. Which means that pretty much all the dialogs show autocentered in a split view. It's probably my driver, which isn't as capable as the one on the laptop, where a maximized app would take one monitor and the dialogs would center on one of them, not half left half right.

I may need to get a new driver, I think :).

And file copying was invented... when exactly? There was a nice article by John Dvorak about how M$ can't get it right after only 25+ years of trying.
