Yes, I will. Doing so opens a huge security hole on your users' systems. The whole reason for making your program folder read-only is to prevent malware from hijacking your EXE or DLLs and doing bad things to their systems as a result.

The correct thing to do is change the location of your application's read-write files to one of the folders the user has read-write access to.
