:) You guessed my next thought.
My usual caveat about the context is that nowadays, when everything is compressed into a soundbite, your context may be just cmdSomething.caption, or a roadsign, or something written on a tiny sticker, i.e. one or two other words, and those may be ambiguous as well.
>"Last" is a funny one: it can mean the end one in chain or the one that just happened. I used this pun in our first gig: "No matter how it goes, tommorrow we'll still be able to refer to this as our last gig".
In Serbian we used to have a borrowed meaning for "zadnji" (rear) from Croatian/Slovenian, where it means "last". I assume it's going out of style nowadays, but those things can be quite persistent. At least I had a lot of fun taking it in its proper meaning (in terms of Serbian language), whenever the illiterate cospeaker (you really NEED this word) would use it in the borrowed meaning. Their confusion was endless.
