It depends on the version of VFP you are using. In earlier versions there was a problem with lists and combos that had to do with certain items not functioning correctly. I recall it being something like 213 and multiples of 213, but I may remeber it incorrectly.

My first comment is that a combo is not a good choice for selecting one out 510 choices. I certainly don;t want to navigate a combobox to do that, and I don'tt think most users will either. I would use a textbox with a look up feature. The user types what they know and then you popoup a form to narrow the options down based on what they typed.

With this approach, if the user knows what they want they just type it and never have to remove their hands from the keyboard to navigate a combobox. If they need the list to help them, they will have already narrowed the number of choices down.
