I will do that, but isn't the error message different for that? Also it is a requirement for the install, and before the .NET 2.0 framework has always been installed before my install if needed. But it is worth checking out along with the Crystal framework.

Yes customer emailed me the error and it is the generic "[your app] has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I create a mutex, then I check for screen bounds then I display my splash screen. The error must happend before the splash screen because the user does not see the splash screen.
