The area of 78 I drive, you are lucky to be able to go the speed limit because of trucks and hills. On the turnpike it's a matter of enforcement, they know when you got on, got off, and the distance, they should just give you a speeding ticket as you exit (and I do drive it occassionally at the speed limit on cruise control). For things like smoking (and fireworks) they should be taxpayer revenue neutral, each pack of cigaretts should have enough tax to pay for it's increased share of health problems (way to low now). I believe ADULTS should have the freedom to do most things even if it harms themselves, but should have no ill impact on other people (like second hand smoke, paying for care of the self indulgent, loud noise/pollution/fire hazard from firecrakers).

Let me ask you this, do you believe in the rule of law at all? Please inform us which laws should be followed, and which ones we should ignore because you don't agree with them. We live in a civilized (??) society, civilized societies are formed on the rule of law.

If you want to ignore the law, you should run for president :)

>So you feel the danger is significantly higher in higher density area's, I guess we agree on that.

>Not so much danger as courtesy. After a 2 hour show, the backyard is littered with debris. But either way, I wouldn't shoot my big stuff in my own backyard.

>I think 65 on 78 is reasonable, as I am sure you know there are tons of accidents on that road (to be fair I don't drive in rural areas) and that it needs to be patrolled more vigorously. But, obviously people choose to break the law all the time, if they get caught, they should pay the piper.

>On certain areas of the turnpike, driving the speed limit (IMO) puts you MORE at risk, because everyone else (even people in the right lane) go so much faster. So I try to keep it between 65 and the flow of traffic.
