>One thing I've noticed is that some slang has a slightly different meaning depending on what country you hear it used in as well as the sentence or phrase. Puta is one of those. I've always taken it to mean most often, our slang for female dog but I've heard it used to mean derogatively prostitute as well. You may find this interesting:
