>>>Oops, I think I answered your question backwards. I thought you wanted to connect to your office machine from home, but from the title of your post it seems you want to connect to your home PC from another PC.
>>>
>>>Again assuming XP Pro on your home machine, right-click on My Computer and choose Properties. Choose the Remote tab and under Remote Desktop mark the check box for Allow user to connect remotely to this computer. Click the Select Remote Users button to add a user. Close the dialogs with OK and you should be all set. You'll need a static IP address at home, of course.

>>Of course... :-) Ok, that means that it needs to remain the same, right? How do I ensure that? Is it that way be default?

>I am far from any expert on this field, but you do not need a static IP, there are workarounds. I did a quick ghoogle search, and I found this link which will get you started: http://blog.technolawyer.com/2006/01/remote_desktop__1.html

Just to add.
I personally use Hamachi VPN http://www.hamachi.cc
It assigns you a static IP in 5. range. When Hamachi is running I just use Remote Desktop to connect to my PC using that IP address, or just browse the shared folders on it without using Remote Desktop.
