Well, assuming you're not exaggerating that's by far the longest I've ever encountered in my almost-20 years of support. The longest it's ever taken me to rebuild one of my or a customer's machine from scratch, including all apps is about 2 days.

If it really takes that long for you to rebuild a system from scratch you should be giving serious consideration to regular image backups.
