For them, I allowed them to use my libraries at no charge (about 10% of the code) and I charged them less than I would have if I included source.
For me.... Job security.
>Do they want source code for safety against your accidents or ability to re-sell (would include copyrights) ?
They already have exclusive resale on the assemblies. They are merging with another firm who wants to be able to review it.
I can probably give them the source code and still retain copyright.
>Do you want/think any further business with them ?
Yes
>Any chance of reselling as is to other customers ?
No
>Was it difficult to build/is recreating hard ?
Not too difficult, especially for me.
>Not enough info to give recommodations
Hopefully the above helps
>Also think whethter there is something in the code you would like to re-use in other projects - when I work in source included scenarios (most of the time) I have a clause in the contract giving me re-use rights to any codes not tied directly to the customers business consider something similar <g>.
Good advice.
