I find that the visual cue of blank white UI controls is usually enough. In addition, I always recommend specifying at least one field as "must key" so if the user tries to save a blank record, they will receive an error message.
OK...Check out the code that I sent you and see it if produces the behavior you're looking for...or if you need something additional. At that point I'll incorporate a permanent change to the Framework and let you know about it.
