>Folders under Documents and Settings (i.e. user profiles) get special treatment. Users can choose to make these folders "private" - if they do so, everyone except them (even local Administrators) are removed from the Access Control List (ACL) and privileges are set to not propagate down from parent folders. If this is what's happened the easiest thing to do is to log on as each user, and re-set the profiles back so they are non-private. Then you should be able to get the access you want.

Ok, I got it to work, mostly. I was doing all this stuff at the folder level, then you mentioned profiles, which got me looking in the Computer Management area. I was able to add and set security there on the individual shared folders. I still couldn't get one of them to work, but the one under it did, so it's ok. I have to go back now and remove the shared status at the folder levels for those that aren't needed, but I think I have what I need. I still say this is not very clear overall. You almost have to be a network administrator to do something simple like this.
