After the age of 35, normally an age when you are what you are, and your performance actually starts to decline in sports, his performance actually imporved significantly.

His At-Bat/HR ratio improved. He was hitting HR once every 17 times at bat. After 35, he was hitting one every 10 times at bat. His batting average went from 285 to 330.
Why is he an exception to the age rule?


He came into MLB at 180lbs and hat size little over 7. Now he is 265 with hat size well over 9.
