>>>I use foxpro/lan 2.0 This morning I set exclusive off and then opened a table on the server to make a change to it. It wouldn't let me make the change and said the file was read only! I don't know what happened to make it read only or how to undo whatever happened! It seems that all the tables are now read only. Can anybody help me out? Please!!

OK Rhea,
Step by step :
-Some operations need exclusive open of files (Modify structure, pack etc). If you want to do one of these then you should open it exclusive otherwise readonly would return.
- "Access denied" means somebody else opened it and using. In fact nobody might be using it physically for the moment but has shut down their terminals after opening the tables (ie: on a Novell netware, go to rconsole and check connections and what they already opened, or NT server manager).
-File attributes or your access rights to server might be readonly too. Check them also.
