I was going to get the Option 3G Max 3.6, but the sales guy talked me into the Sierra basically because of reviews and that it is USB, so I can hook it up to any PC/Laptop. I looked it up and it got Editor's Choice in PCMag and seemed to be rated pretty well overall. A little expensive at $300 list price for the card, but I got it for $150 with a $100 mail-in rebate, so $50 bucks. The monthly cost for the extra data line (and another phone number (?) is $59, give or take a couple bucks.

I've used the Sierra from Cingular (ATT) and now have a Verizon Rev A card. I haven't seen much difference in either. They are still slower than advertised. We went to lunch with the Verizon reps last week and they say we should be getting better than dsl speed on these things, but I haven't seen it. At any rate, they are adequate, but I consider them a stopgap until I can connect to a wifi or hardline.
