French fries were actually a Belgian invention. I was guessing it was the Brits, but no. It would be in character to take an idea from the French and not give them the satisfaction.

>Depends on the airline. We didn't take the direct flight from Paris to Seattle, we had a stop in Detroit. So, the trip gets broken up into an 8 hour flight, Paris to Detroit, and then a 4-1/2 flight, Detroit to Seattle. I have mixed feelings about taking the direct flight ... if we got business/first class where you could actually do some sleeping while flying (reclining seats with foot rests, just like a La-Z-Boy), then direct isn't so bad. <g>
