I know that DevExpress will be rolling out a WPF control package at the upcoming show in DevConnections in LasVegas, and I know that WPF is getting a lot of steam right now. You have even recommended to me in a previous post that in starting from scratch like I am, WPF would probably be the better choice over WinForms for future technology life cycle, and probably other reasons.

Therefore, what are you plans for WPF support of Third Party Controls as they roll them out (ie DevExpress very soon according to blogs on their own website), and/or having your own WPF-ready controls within the MM suite?

From their blog: Oct 19, 2007

"Over the last week, we've disclosed some of the upcoming features in DXperience v2007, vol3. What we have not yet disclosed are our plans for WPF and Silverlight. At DevConnections, we'll debut our grid and charting tools for WPF..."

>>Kevin - I have installed MM 2.4 eval, and built a business object project on one of my tables in SQL Sever Express. It tests out on the test bench just fine.
>>
>>I have also downloaded and installed Dev Express 7.1.4 Eval, and I can drop a Dev eXpress grid on a form, but I don't really think it is tied in to your Mere Mortals framework yet.
>>
>>Can you help me make the Dev Express components recognize the MM Business Objects.

>Check out the MM .NET Dev Guide topic "Third Party Components | Developer's Express Windows Controls". This topic talks about installing the MM .NET DevExpress Windows Controls. You can download these from the same page you downloaded the eval version of MM .NET.

>It sounds like you have an older version of DevExpress than what we used to create our subclasses of DevExpress. Since these folks release new versions several times a year it's hard for anyone to keep up with them! Based on this, we have instructions in the DevGuide for getting our controls to work with whatever version of DevExpress you happen to have. You can find these instructions under the topic "Recompiling Third Party Product Assemblies".
