In all the old US movies the dad brought the tree home after work, on Xmas Eve. I always thought that was leaving it
a bit late.
>It's always the 4th Thursday in November. It used to be that you saw Halloween or Harvest type decorations in October, Thanksgiving decorations in November, and the week following Thanksgiving the Christmas decorations went up.

>>>For me, anytime after Thanksgiving is ok. Earlier than that is ridiculous. I've seen two houses in my neighborhood already with christmas lights on at night!

>>>>Totally agree. I can understand furniture ads with their "Order now and have your new sofa for Xmas" (although WHY someone would want to go to the extra expense of buying furniture at this time of year is beyond me), as there is of necessity a lead time involved. I can also forgive, say, Xmas hamper weekly payment schemes. To SOME extent I can forgive Xmas deccies in shop windows (from mid November). But WHY does a
cafe need a life-size Santa figure in Oct!!!!!?
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
