- Thank you, Mr. Favre! Not only did you give us another great MNF moment, but you also beat the Broncos, keeping them once game behind KC. So that, and we got to see lots of DeAnna Favre tonight. Man, she's hot!

- Related note...did Jay Cutler really go to college? This guy makes Homer Simpson seem like a Phi Beta Kappa during post-game interviews.

- Speaking of KC...Herman Edwards is doing one heck of a coaching job in KC. How good? Consider this....at the beginning of last season, 10 head coaches started with new teams. Edwards has the 2nd best winning % of the 10. Asking a coach to win games is tough....asking a coach to rebuild a team with younger players is tough....expecting BOTH? Edwards is delivering. KC's defense hasn't surrendered more than 20 pts in any game this year - no other team can claim that. KC's defense is in the top 10, and L.J. is getting on track.

- It's not just that the AFC teams are better than the NFC teams - the head coaches are smarter as well. Last week, Ken Whisenhunt made two huge coaching gaffes that cost his team a win against the 'Skins. This past week, the bonehead award goes to either Brad Childress or the Viking replay guys upstairs, who challenged a 2nd half call that they had no business challenging....the loss of that timeout hurt them in the last 2 minutes.

- The 'ominously-reborn' Saints? Think again - wins over a soft Seattle team, a dysfunctional Falcon team, and an impotent 49ers team are OK, but they have stiffer competition on the horizon. Then again, the NFC South is the weakest division in football.

- Donovan McNabb might have saved the Eagle season on Sunday. But a loss next week to Dallas will really hurt them.

- Are the G-Men for real? Only if little Eli doesn't have to throw more than 20 passes a game. At best, he's a decent QB. At his best...

- Next week's MNF will feature the Ravens as they try to beat up on the Ravens (whoops! I meant the Steelers...the Ravens only try to beat up on the Ravens on their radio programs).

- R.I.P. Ocho-Cinco. The Bengals are officially the Bung-holes again

- I didn't like the Pats running up the score....but all the post-game belly-aching from the 'Skins was even worse. If you don't like someone running up the score on you...DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

- As badly as the Browns lost on opening day, I'm stunned they're 4-3. But they have a good QB....and it isn't Brady Quinn!!!

- DeAnna Favre is really hot.

- Looks like the Houston Texans have peaked. Oh well....it wasn't all David Carr's fault then.

- A year ago at this time, I thought Jeff Fisher would be fired...the Titans are 11-3 in their last 14 games dating back to last season, with some of the strangest offensive stats I've ever seen. Another Music City Miracle?

- I feel sorry for anyone who had to watch the Buffalo / Jet game. A friend of mine called me and said, 'I want to hurt this game....but I'll never be able to hurt it as much as it hurt me'. The Jets suck and Buffalo semi-suck. Did anyone hear the rumor that the Buffalo owner didn't want a healthy Lossman back on the field, because he didn't want to pay out performance incentives? I'll bet the owner was frosted when QB Trent Edwards left the game with an injury and Lossman came in to heave the winning TD pass. Then again, money is tight in Buffalo, hence all the talk about moving the team.

- The Bears have a pulse....BEAR-LY.

- When Jon Kitna predicted 10 wins this season, I thought he was smoking crack. Sure, their two losses were total humiliations, but their 'D' seems to be improving. I still say 8 or 9 wins....but at least the upcoming Turkey-Day game against Green Bay will be interesting to watch. I hope they get Deanna Favre in the broadcast booth again.

- Indy and the Pats...it doesn't get any better than this. I hope Indy wins.

- The Carolina Panthers are the hard-luck story of the league. Grandpa Vinny comes in...wins a game...then injures his ankle tripping over his own lineman. Imagine what the Patriots would be like with Moss, Stallworth, AND Steve Smith as wide receivers? Don't laugh...it could happen.

- Jon Gruden might have saved his job for awhile, but Tampa is still more about smoke and mirrors. That works in the first half of the year, not the second. I like Jeff Garcia, but I'll be stunned if they finish above .500.

Until next week...
