Well Monday I went looking. And everyone who had stock had raised their price on the A2. But Bestbuy.com still had the A3 on sale at $199. This includes 2 DVDs in the box, and you can get 2 or 3 more free at time of purchase, along with the coupon for 5 more.
So, since I didn't want to get left out, I ordered it. It originally said backordered for 1 or 2 weeks. But it got set out yesterday. I'll have it Monday. In looking thru the HDDVD catalog to pick out the free ones, it appears, as with standard DVD, that many only support DD and don't offer a DTS soundtrack.
>I don't think you will need a new receiver but it may help you decide between A2 vs A3.
>
>"The difference between the A2 and A3 is the A2 optical out supports DTS and the A3 supports DD 5.1. The A2 can do 1.5 mps DTS over optical cable, and the A3 can do 640kps DD 5.1 over optical cable."

>>Now for the question(s):
>>First one, I have a Denon 2803 receiver, purchased maybe 5 yrs ago. Do I need a new receiver to get better quality sound from the A3?
>>
>>That's it for now.
