Perhaps I didn't understand what the articles were suggesting, but they appeared to be a whole lot more complicated and time-consuming than what I'm willing to do to solve this problem. That's why I bought an image library: so I wouldn't have to fuss with images! I created two custom images for this project last spring. They took far more time to prefect than I could possibly charge to the client. That taught me a lesson. It's not a good use of my time to modify images when I have so much other work waiting to be done that clients ARE eager to pay for!

I'm very grateful for your help and suggestions, but I don't think there would be adequate "return on investment" for my time to figure out what the articles are suggesting and then perform the various tasks on each of 100+ images. I guess I was hoping someone would tell me that by changing some setting in VFP, the display oddities would disappear. But this seems to be an ongoing problem that would need to be "solved" anew each time I need a different image. Unless my client suddenly thinks that time is worth paying for, we may just have to live with auras on command buttons.
