>It is always embarrassing to hear about such things in America, however, what about the expectations of some other countries that "require" women to wear a head scarf even if that is not of their religion. What is the general response from citizens over there?

That they are intolerant is not something for which I'm willing to take responsibility. I take full responsibility for my own actions and words, and that's about it.

Certainly I wish they were more tolerant and forgiving, but they aren't; so all a person can do is to be aware of what they're getting themselves into when you go to those countries.

>>Yeah, this sort of thing has been in the news a lot lately. I agree this is an unusually stupid way for people to behave. And what a ridiculous excuse - "It (the hijab) could be used to strangle somebody." I thought that was what referees were for - to make sure the rules are followed. Is it permissible in the rules to strangle an opponent in amateur sports in Canada?

>>Waheeda Masood from Surrey, BC has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is a multi medal winner, and she said that she has always worn a hijab in competition. But then, she has probably never strangled anyone with it.

>>This is either racist or just plain stupid, but either way, something has to change.

>>>It seem life beginned harder in Canada too for muslims:
