>>>So.....in about 90 minutes, I'm about to do something I swore I'd NEVER EVER DO....wait in front of a store on Black Friday at 5 AM.

>>Walk slowly, don't run! You will not have any problem today, but in a few years. When most program will be sent in 1920x1080, you will end up with either a black screen, or a somewhat funny picture because it's not easy to "interpolate" 1920x1080 to 1366x768. Divide 1366 by 1920, and you will get 0,71145833333333333333333333333333, an infinite number. This means that no hardware is able to convert a 1920x1080 picture to 1366x768 perfectly, the solutions I have seen so far have been really terrible. And expensive.....!

>Define "few" years. Right now, you have to have additional gear to even get true HDTV. I figure my Vizio 50" 768 will last a few years, then who knows what technology will reign. You know Sony has developed a tv that is paper thin. How does that figure into the mix?

I can choose from several satelite channels which transmit true HD (1920x1080) today, is that soon enough for your? And while many channels still transmit with "normal" definition, most channels have announced that they will switch as soon as the demand is big enough. With the speed things are changing now, 2010 is mentioned as when this change may happen. I wouldn't buy a TV today which would be out dated in three years.

And no, I have not heard about Sony's paper thin TV, unless you talk about one of the many products which they show "pre-alpha" video snippets of. 99% of these products die a silent death.
