Hi Kevin

Tore is correct, you want true 1080p
This is especially important if you want to connect a computer to it.
Try ECost for some good 1080P deals, and get QAM tuner if its available, it will let you get highdef off of cable for free (my area about 20 channels)

Most Satellite/Cable high def is still 1080i but will play fine on the better spec, Blu-ray and HD-DVD are the best sources for true 1080P stuff. In a couple of years they will be able to compress the 1080p broadcasts for the available bandwidth, just not there yet.

I got a 42" Magnavox 1080p monitor (no tuner) for $700

>AT least make sure that you buy a real HD TV, usually called "FULL HD" meaning that the resolution must be 1920x1080. About 95% of the people who buy "HD-READY", get 1366x768. To say it mildly, they are screwed. You just can't get two gallons into a one gallon can.

>Hi, Tore, thanks for the info.

>I couldn't find a sale price for a 1920x1080 for any less than $1,300. I just recently bought a nice big desktop, so my conscience won't let me spent that much on a TV. ;)

>My in-laws have an HD TV that's about one-level lower than the one I'm about to buy, and their's is fantastic.

>So.....in about 90 minutes, I'm about to do something I swore I'd NEVER EVER DO....wait in front of a store on Black Friday at 5 AM.
