>>I think the VFP programmers have been spoiled rotten by the all-in-one environment for IDE, data and programming language and object model ease and depth.

>>I wouldn't say spoiled rotten. It's just what we've grown accustomed to from the early years and I think M$ hates that.

>Maybe I should just speak for myself. I feel rotten every time I have to use something else besides VFP. A big part of this rotten feeling most certainly comes from the fact that after almost 30 years of xBase/Foxbase/VFP I'm way too comfortable with it. And biased, I guess...

Then you could say that women got spoiled by washing machines, and men got
spoiled by cars/plasma TVs etc. It is just hard to settle for less once you get used to easy/comfourtable living.

Can you imagine if M$ was making washing machines, and then all of a sudden
they said - no more! ('Who ever uses washing machine should be shot!')

... From now on you have to let clothes soil in our special bucket, then
put our latest line of super powders, and wash it using our skyline rotating wash-head. Then you rince it carfully using our hi-tech softener which also protect your hands. After you are done with it you can put it in our special micro(wave)oven to dry. If you done all these steps correctly, and you have
platinum line MicroDryingOven then you can count on bonus feature - 'No Ironing required!' ...

That is 3-4 lines of products to replace that darn (profit) looser called washing machine. Business has to loom :) It is still huge progress compared to attending nearest creek to handwash it in cold running water,
so WM users would *have to* accept this as a progress...

I would like to see that mighty marketing machine trying to push/sell this story to female population ...

...zzzttt... BONG @##$%@^# !
[Bleeding/ducking behind cover]
'Oh...uh...ouch.. What was that kitchen utensil that hit me this time ?!!??? '
<vbg>

Cheers :)
