I figured that would be the case - the names in the proverb were supposedly Turkish by origin, but probably mangled for rhyme's sake. There was a folk singer once in Bosnia, Sabahudin Kurt - so there must have been others with the same last name. And it's quite common for people in Bosnia to be deaf to foreign names. Dang, they couldn't even accept that on our side of Drina there were male names ending with -a, they'd keep changing them to -o.
