>Am I missing something? I don't have a "Create Database" under my tools menu in VSS administrator. Is this something new in VSS 6.0? I have 5.0. The only way they suggest to do it is re-install VSS to a new folder, but then I have to re-apply service packs, etc. I certainly don't like the idea of re-applying service packs to VB, VFP, etc., every time I want to creat a new VSS DB. Surely there's a better way in VSS 5?

I guess it is something new in 6.0.

In version 5, you need to employ a manual process. This process can be found on page 182 of the user manual. Here are the steps:

1. Copy the data folder under \vss to another location.
2. In the new folder, create a srcsafe.ini file with these two lines of code:

#include \vss\srcsafe.ini
Data_Path = DATA

Page 181 shows how to use the command line parameters to open a specific database.

All of this should be available in the help file as well.
