In another moment of desperation I added this to the error() method of my screen:
IF oApp.Show_OLE_Errors = .F.
IF nError != 1440
DODEFAULT()
ENDIF
ELSE
DODEFAULT()
ENDIF
....that way I could see if I was getting an OLE error if I wanted (which I knew I would be)
This is what I see:
"OLE error code 0x80040154: Class not registered. OLE boject is being ignored."
...so between that, and seeing this in my Event Log after I run the activex installer...
"The description for Event ID ( 34401 ) in Source ( Crystal_regsvr32 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: ."
...I'm convinced that the install simply isn't working somehow. Yet, I did go out and register the .dll's and the .ocx file manually - and that didnt produce any errors either.
Strange because the installer looks like it ran just fine.

>>Do you think this plan is worth trying:
>>1) Uninstall CR 11
>>2) Uninstall CR 11 viewer
>>3) Uninstall the ActiveX
>>4) Reinstall the ActiveX

>>I don't have to have CR installed to use the activex do I? I think if I did that I could at least get my app working...
