The trend is to get religion back into government, and the email is just a rather poor attempt to play a reductio ad absurdum on the constitutional separation, but ends up with not enough straw for the straw man.

The government is already faith based (I mean, common sense can't explain why are they still sitting there).

BTW, I don't mind working on any of the Days - I regularly find code I saved on any of them, including my birthday, ILD, etc. I'd prefer to have flexible schedules for anything, so the non-participants would 1) get a chance to make an extra buck by working when very few want, 2) those with small emergencies would still have someplace to go.

BTW2: are you people sure there are more than 50 bad Fridays every year? That's outright scary. Why's nobody doing anything to at least house-break them?
