And there are anecdotes that show how bad having a readily available gun is.

For example once in Avellaneda, a city in the outskirts of Buenos Aires a lady at her home panicked when some guy was trying to enter her house, and she shoot him, only to kill a baby being carried in his stroller by her mother some meters away.

Then there is the case in Mar del Plata, another Argentinean city, where a military guy while sitting in his balcony, saw some guy trying to steal his car, so he grab his gun and kill him, only to find that the guy was actually entering his own car which was exactly the same as his, which was parked a few meters away.

And the third anecdote I will post is a guy that heard someone entering his house, so he grabbed his gun and kill the "intruder", who happened to be his grand son.

I am sure all those people involved in those events think guns are great.
