I offer you a non-lethal weapon that can be used to defend yourself. You reject the offer because you want an 'equalizer'. I suspect revenge feelings and mention that unethical. Then you claim that it's not unethical to defend oneself.

Sure, that's not unethical. But my initial offer gave you that right and you rejected it. Tell you what, why not indeed allow all people to own a weapon (or twelve weapons) that far exceeds the capacity of the criminal's weapon? Or should it be a fair fight?

I look out of my window and can easilly count 50 houses. I feel relief knowing that none of them have a gun in their bedroom. Okay, I suspect there will be two or three who do have one, but I tell you I'd feel far less safe if I'd know for sure that they all have one, notwithstanding the one in my own bedroom.

>Whaaaat??? How in the world could it even be remotely unethical to want to defend myself and

>>Is THIS your argument? I'm really surprised here. It means you're as bad as that criminal, in the ethical sense.

>>>Because I want to be armed at least as same as the criminal. The gun is the great equalizer.

Constructive frustration is the breeding ground of genius.
If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
