>I just read your posts in Kevin's Iraq thread and was surprised how strong they were. I'm not saying you shouldn't feel that way, just didn't know you did. Maybe if more Americans realized what Iraq is doing to our reputation around the world, even among people who are not basically anti-American, we would put pressure on the government to bring this foolish adventure to an end.
Outside USA the "Iraq" war has zero point zero zero one precent support. I think it's sad that most Americans don't understand how pathetic these infomercials, like the one Kevin showed, look to any non-American. To be honest these infomercials only help widen the gap between USA and the rest of the world.
Also to be honest, I really feel sorry for people who sees anything good in these infomercials. I realize that the soldiers only do what they are forced to do, so in some sense they do deserve the salutation. But why make such a fuzz out of it? Some people call them brave, which I think is a farse. You are brave if you do things given a choice NOT to do it. I don't have a better word, but I think "standing tall" is better than brave in this case.
These are my last words for now, it's time to sepnd some quality time with my family. Merry Christmas, and a new year!
