I noticed all of the other respondents are not 'American' (I used that term specically due to your 'un-American' :o) Probably because, non-Americans still consider the U.S. completely on a 12 hour am/pm clock which is not accurate and hasn't been for years. While most still use that for everyday conversation (I get off work at 5, not I get off work at 1700), we 'Americans' are quite used to the 24 hour clock on all sales receipts by now :o)
