>I noticed all of the other respondents are not 'American' (I used that term specically due to your 'un-American' :o) Probably because, non-Americans still consider the U.S. completely on a 12 hour am/pm clock which is not accurate and hasn't been for years. While most still use that for everyday conversation (I get off work at 5, not I get off work at 1700), we 'Americans' are quite used to the 24 hour clock on all sales receipts by now :o)
Now when you get off work not at 1700 nor at 5PM, but at 17:00 (i.e. not seventeen hundred, not five pee emme, but at 17 sharp, civilian 24h time), you won't even notice that they are selling sugar water by the liter for years already. When you buy your first 4l canister of milk, it'll be too late. You'll have been metric for ages by then.
Too bad it will be too late for me to see that. I'm not expecting this to happen within my lifetime ;).
