I would recommend anyone, not just you, not to drink alcohol at all.
It is often said that there is no problem if you drink moderately, but to me, this sounds like Russian roulette: some people will be able to control themselves, some not. It is safer not to try your luck, and pull the trigger, in the first place. Well, we can agree to disagree on this one.
As I'm sure you'll agree, simply drinking doesn't mean a person will fall victim to it. Certainly, a person's overall emotional state of being will play a big role in alcoholism (and their biological makeup, etc.).
I only drink a handful of brands of beer - because I enjoy the taste, and yes, one or two bottles are often welcome after a rough day. For the vast majority, light to moderate drinking (a.k.a. "responsible" drinking) does them no harm.
A recommendation that no one drink alcohol is about as practical as telling people not to eat sweets or not to drive a car at 65 mph.
