When I kick the bucket, to be able to say "it was all crazy and unforgettable". Which so far it was. I know I will be mentioned by at least those who knew me, and maybe a few who only heard about me. What else can one want?
That's in the long run. Day to day, what seems to matter most is to have something to do while being trouble free. And even when "something to do" is mostly the struggle against the trouble (health, debt, unemployment), it's something to do, and something to be happy about when achieved.
So in the start of the day, it's a good day if I know I'll have something to do that day.
