There's a lot of merit to the twit filter. It has prevented me from answering (at least reminded me that I promised to myself that I will not be answering - I can still see their messages quoted or when I view the whole thread) to posts from several people with whom I simply can't have any patience. And I think me not writing any messages of that kind has benefited UT in general :).
