I read something about converters the other day. It said they will be partially subsidized by the government and will cost about $50. IIRC these will be necessary for people whose TVs are not capable of receiving digital signals, which are the ones built more than 10 years or so ago.

>If you go with rabbit ears, remember that all analog TV signals will be gone early next year. Special converters will be required to pick up the digital signals on old TVs.

>>If you go with HDTV packages, Direct TV has far more than any other provider. If you are looking for reliability under all weather conditions, then cable tv is still the better choice. In the past, friends of mine who had satellite have had to come to my house during hurricanes to watch the news. Time Warner is also a good choice if you want the whole package: internet access, ip phone, and cable. I'm waiting for the day when DSL and satellite can offer all three as well in one affordable package. I just remembered where you are located, and I believe that if weather conditions block satellite, you still can watch local tv with indoor rabbit ears, right?
