It takes 2.1 children per woman to sustain a population. The only western country that is currently maintaining that is the US at exactly 2.1. While 3rd world nations are blowing this average away their populations do not live as long due to numerous factors. The population of the earth is not increasing anywhere close to exponentially and the balance will be reached long before due to socio-economic factors.
