It was called a twit filter way back when all we had were bulletin boards, and no www. Afaik, it's always been called a twit filter.

But I do know that when he washere, Ed Rauh would get annoyed with some people's responses and he was one of the ( or maybe the ) first ones to request a filter from Michel and he (Ed) called it a "twit filter" and so it has been referred to ever since.
