Hit the brakes...stop....the initial statement is correct (and sustainable).

I'm very happy to have that discussion with you.

HOWEVER, in the context of the actual thread back in 2004, there *was* no justification. Just a series of derogatory slurs, irrelevant tangents and attempts to shift the goalposts. That's what people complain about. Not who was right and who was wrong; read the messages and you must see.

that's not a "rip" against VFP...it's just a statement of fact.

I'm delighted to hear any justification. That's my point- enough with the "truth hurts" and the rest of it. People want to learn- not to be scolded and insulted.

It was never designed for security concerns.

What security concerns in particular? I'm assuming we aren't trying to shoehorn VFP as a virus checker or security device but using it as a database development tool? This is the same discussion I tried (unsuccessfully) to have 4 years ago. Maybe I'll get a chance to learn something this time. Or maybe I'll be lucky enough to be "taught" the realities about dbfs. ;-) Nah, I know you wouldn't do that. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
