Like I said earlier, the two threads provided by Alan and JR demonstrate JVP asking questions/raising issues from a different angle, and it's the reactions to JVPs comments that often stirred things up. I realize the term "think outside the box" is a huge cliche', but in this case, that's exactly what JVP was doing.

I still disagree that raising issues from a different angle that do nothing to further the knowledge that the person starting the thread is trying to glean is useful in a technical discussion. In fact I think it is actually counter productive to the questioner. Starting another thread raising those questions probably would be the way to go imho.
