I read that jumpstart and if you ask me it's not worth to fill a tea spoon about ADO, more or less valuable than many FAQ, magazine, download contributions of many community members on this forum and other forums most of which are not MVPs. It was the only technical content I have ever seen from him ever (well I must admit I haven't read all of his posts to find one another).

The white paper was written in 1999 - the fact that MS commissioned it, and the fact that it's still available and still talked about, tells you something. At the time it was viewed as one of the best pieces of documentation for VFP developers on using ADO.

If that's the only technical content you've seen from him, I'm rather sorry to hear that. John wrote a column for FoxTalk for years, and has authored multiple database/foxPro books. Here's a little secret I'll let you in on - there ARE technical resources out there beyond just the UT. <s>
