What are you using to create the image? Your best bet would probably be to make an EMF image. This uses vector graphics and would be device independent (would show the highest resolution for your device ie: screen=96dpi, printer=600dpi) Then your 5pt and 6pt fonts would be no problem. The VFP9 report engine supports EMF format.
