but it burns me when somebody posts an obviously biased slant on how good VFP is comparativelyWhen you say "bias" do you mean his or yours? Put another way: does only your experience count?
We have converted and are in the process of converting 100,000's of lines of VFP code with just as much finesse and funcitonality as Mike quoted, and it is taking about the same amount of time to convert them. We are using 4 man teams with a QA and a product manager to do so.Cool. That's your experience. Can you point me to a post where you were called a liar or people insisted that their anecdote is more valuable than yours? I don't believe you can. QED.
And it takes insecure net/vfp wannabees to keep flaming the fires and defending an outdated, outmoded and out-surpassed product.I don't believe "out-surpassed" is a real word. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
